BAT Guardian by NoFire

Detect & suppress Li-ion battery fires

Carefully selected semiconductor gas detectors (”Noses”, 1-8 pcs. per an analyser unit) and optional thermal imaging cameras (”Eyes”) continuously monitor the protected space, feeding their observations to the ”Soul“ – an analyser that interprets various battery fire risks using a learning AI model, adjusting to various environments and situations.

BAT Guardian detects and responds to an approaching battery fire up to 30 minutes earlier – and with significantly higher accuracy – than traditional solutions. This allows starting and controlling various preventive measures well before gases and heat from the subsequent thermal runaway and combustion would be detectable by smoke and/or thermal sensors, and before activating the suppression system might even be required – minimising equipment losses, costs and disruptions of operations, while maximising personnel safety.

In the Nordic and Baltic countries, NoFire Systems distributes Swiss RSL Fire GmbH’s fire extinguishing systems, as well as products of the British Nobel Fire Systems Ltd., for the most part exclusively. All our extinguishing systems are depressurized in their dormant state.

For the global market, our experts have developed several modular products. The BAT Guardian™ and POD Guardian™ modules, separately or combined, offer a safe, easily installable and compact solution for various challenges within the defence sector, enabling protecting rooms, containers and other, even mobile structures also in situations where traditional methods might be cost prohibitive or technically unfeasible.

NoFire BAT Guardian™ system was selected by a listed, global enterprise to protect the containers in which they require their personnel and visitors to recharge the batteries of scooters, bicycles and other mobile vehicles.

When toxic, combustible off gases are detected, the system prevents personnel entering the container, cuts the recharging power, adjusts the ventilation and sends an alarm to the security staff. Suppression can be started either manually (also remotely through the included communication device) or automatically, when the system considers the situation critical. External influences (such as gases from external sources) are taken into account by a reference sensor outside the container / ventilation system. NoFire can provide remote support, adjustments and updates to the system, if the communication features are set up accordingly. If only a known battery type is used in the protected cabinets, the system can potentially also detect and identify batteries that are faulty (but not yet an acute fire risk).
